why care?

Tourism is a key factor in the economic development of Bali, but needs careful management and conscientious approaches to ensure sustainable development that is respectful of the island's culture and beneficial for community and environment.

It takes about four hours drive from Bali’s main airport in Denpasar to reach Sumberkima where Samong Haven is located. It remains one of the most unspoiled, but also poorest parts of the island. At Samong Haven we believe in the friendly, warm people that make up our community and are dedicated to facilitating sustainable prosperity in the region.

make the change happen

Our guests will be the change makers. Without them, our mission to enable travel that benefits our local community, develops cultural exchange and facilitates sustainable conservation will fail.

your stay helps people

Profits from your stay will support communities living in North-West Bali through partnerships with charitable foundations working on grass-roots projects. More information about our collaborations is coming soon.

Nurture Nature

One of our responsibilities is to care for the incredible environment and wildlife that surrounds us. We will do this both internally (by implementing sustainable measures on site and offering opportunities for guests and neighbours to learn) and externally (by financially and structurally supporting local foundations to address and support environmental issues faced in the area).

Interested guests will be welcome to take a free tour of our organic permaculture farm and/or an introduction to the sustainable measures implemented in our buildings. We are going to offer a variety of other opportunities to engage with the surrounding tropical environment including free nature walks.
